Helsinki Rugby Club’s Emilio Pardo has been awarded best male player of the 2024 season. Sofia Lalli and Manu Holmila won the Breakthrough player of the year awards. Congratulations to our players on their impressive impact!
A successful 2024 season
2024 was a successful season for Helsinki Rugby Club: the women won the Finnish championship for the third year in a row, beating Tampere Rugby Club 27–14 in the final, and also celebrated the Finnish sevens title.
The Breakthrough player awards show how far new players can develop through the club’s training and matches. Congratulations once more to Emilio, Sofia and Manu!
Men’s teams
HRC has two men’s teams. The Big Guns play in the championship league and have won the Finnish title seven times (2002, 2003, 2014, 2016, 2020, 2021 and 2022), and many of their players represent the national team. The Blue Tigers, the club’s development team, play in the second division and welcome beginners and experienced players alike.
Next year’s breakthrough award could be yours
New players are always welcome – no previous experience needed. The best way to start is the club’s free beginners’ course or open training.
The breakthrough player award shows that you can develop quickly at the club by training regularly and playing matches. Open training and the free beginners’ course are an easy way to start, and training is mostly in English.
